A "cannot miss" night to go out clubbing and to help support San Francisco activist politics. The fourth yearly incarnation of one of San Francisco's premier club parties, Red Bull Ascension at Ten15 Folsom. For the past three years Red Bull Ascension has been one of the City's most unusual artistic events, outright hottest parties and also the SFLNC's major fundraising event. We're eager to see what the Ascension artists have cooked up for our pleasure this year.

THE SF BIKE COALITION BIKE TO WORK NIGHT
On Thursday, May 20th, celebrate your urban biking lifestyle as Bike To Work Day culminates in a massive party and benefit, the SFBC's "bike to work NIGHT” at DNA Lounge. In partnership with the Late Night Coalition and Soundsafe, the SFBC will bring you an eclectic evening of live rock bands, funky house DJs, and fierce performances of every stripe!
Headlining the main stage will be three of the best pop rock bands on the local scene, including SubPop Records’ newest exclusive artists, Rogue Wave (pictured) , whose music the SF Weekly calls “an effervescent blend of The Byrds, The Kinks, and Simon & Garfunkel”; Giant Value, the trio dedicated to serving up the freshest pop tunes for your listening pleasure; and local hip-hop/garage/funk favorites The Marginal Prophets, whose latest album, Bohemian Rap CD, has been nominated for a 2004 California Music Award.
After the live sets end at 11 pm, a powerhouse line-up of amazing DJs will take over the stage and spin into the wee hours. On the main dance floor, Bay Area bohemian and psychedelic breakbeat guru DJ Laird will help you get your groove on; then SF’s own international superstar DJ Mauricio Aviles (of NakedMusic and LoveSlap! Recordings) will deliver a set of his trademark ethereal, soulful house, followed by DJ Adnan (Survival Sounds) and David Starfire (Mantra). Stay, play & dance your booty off!
Throughout the night, hostess Heklina will keep things moving with a steady stream of knockout performances by the notorious “girls” of Trannyshack, San Francisco’s legendary Tuesday night drag show at The Stud! Confirmed performers include Trannyshack luminaries Ana Conda, Trauma Flintstone, Veda De Voe, Diva Dan, Pippi Lovestocking, and Roky Roulette. Also appearing will be bad boy Tom Orr (Dirty Little Showtunes!; Naked Boys Singing) who has composed a bike-themed number just for this event!
"bike to work NIGHT" doors open at 7pm, show at 8pm, at DNA Lounge on 11th @ Harrison. Tickets are only $10 for SFBC members, or FREE if you join at the door!
